We at Romiley Board Mill are able to manufacture carpet core in variety of lengths and thicknesses. All of our carpet cores are made from recycled board. This is derived from pulped board, all of which recycled on our premises.

How carpet core and vinyl core benefits contractors and retailers

As carpets and vinyl flooring vary in thickness and length, the thickness of the carpet core must reflect this. A coreless carpet or vinyl floor would be a nightmare to transport. The roll wouldn’t keep its shape: installation would be a finicky affair for flooring contractors. If you go to your local carpet shop, a coreless roll of carpet is sloppy. No matter how thick or aesthetically pleasing it is.

Furthermore, carpet cores and vinyl cores are a must for transporting items, whether from warehouse to shop, or shop to home. Carpet core ensures that carpets or vinyl flooring is kept in a uniform shape whilst in transit.

How carpet core and vinyl core benefits manufacturers

If you manufacture your own floor coverings – carpet or vinyl – carpet core ensures that your product is kept in tip-top condition. Not only for your customers (business-to-business and business-to-consumer), but also for the journey from factory to home or office block, via retailer.

With the option of printed finishes, you could have your brand name printed inside the core. A choice of colours, plus the addition of any corporate logos are available.

What about dimensions and colours?

Our carpet core is available in lengths as small as 5 mm. The longest length we can do is 6,000 mm – slightly over half the length of a double decker bus. You can have an inner diameter as thin as 25.4 mm, or as thick as 305 mm. The wall thickness can be as thin as 2 mm or as thick as 15 mm.

We also have a number of standard sizes as well as bespoke options. What’s more, your carpet core can come in any colour with a choice of company logos. If you have any queries, call us on 0161 430 6061. We will be delighted to help you.

Tape & Label Cores

Tapes and Label Cores

Without cardboard tubes, using tape of any description will be impossible. Which is why sticky tape, insulation tape or duct tape needs durable cardboard cores. We can offer fully bespoke printed finishes and colours to brand your product, whether your images are in monochrome or full colour. Quick lead times and stock sizes are available.

We at Romiley Board Mill recognise the usefulness of tapes and label cores. Not only its raison d’etre, but also its promotional uses.

For sticky tape of any description

Imagine trying to apply duct tape or using parcel tape without cardboard cores. Wrapping a parcel is frustrating enough with cardboard cores, let alone without them. The task would be more finicky without a core. The tape would be dishevelled and the parcel would not be wrapped properly. If we substituted parcel tape for duct tape, our DIY projects could go skew-whiff.

Our full colour printing facilities enable us to print your company logo on the inside wall. Another use could be for serial numbers or order codes. Or it could be used to state which kind of tape it is.

For keeping your labels together

Labels can also be kept on separate sheets of paper as well as cardboard cores. If you need several hundred labels rather than two dozen, label cores are necessary. These can be suitable for use inside label dispensers as well as separate rolls.

Whether your labels are designed for postal addresses or for marking equipment, we are flexible enough to accommodate a number of sizes.

What about dimensions and colours?

Our tapes and label cores are available in lengths as small as 5 mm. The longest length we can do is 6,000 mm – almost the third of the length of a railway carriage. You can have an inner diameter as thin as 25.4 mm, or as thick as 305 mm. The wall thickness can be as thin as 2 mm or as thick as 15 mm.

We also have a number of standard sizes as well as bespoke options. What’s more, your label cores can come in any colour with a choice of company logos. If you have any queries, give us a ring on 0161 430 6061. We will be delighted to help you.

Romiley Board Mill’s expertise in cardboard packaging stands us in good stead for the manufacture of postal tubes. Find out why our postal tubes deliver the best results.

Why our postal tubes are robust

Whether you are sending a poster to Compstall or Colorado, postal tubes need to be tough enough to make the journey. Over a long journey, the cardboard packaging should be robust enough for all conditions. Our postal tubes can be manufactured to suit common paper sizes, where a narrow tube is suitable.

We can also manufacture postal tubes with open ends, or with plastic ends. The former is suitable for presenting certificates whereas the latter is best for postal deliveries. They come in various diameters as well paper sizes. Handy if you are carrying more than one article in the tube.

When your recipient has finished with the tube, they could use it again for keeping their certificate, print or poster free of creases.

Polythene & Extrusion Cores

Polythene and Extrusion Cores

For extra strength, our polythene and extrusion cores are designed for heavy duty use. Our manufactured polythene and extrusion cores have high crush strengths, which are worked to exact length and diameter tolerances. This makes our polythene and extrusion cores a smart option for demanding applications.

Our extrusion cores are a must for cling film, cellophane, and aluminium foil. It is designed to stand up to the crush strength of various materials.

Why extrusion cores matter?

For modern day-to-day life, you may have come across extrusion cores without knowing it at all. When you open a roll of cling film, or tear off a bin bag, the power behind the polythene is the core. It keeps your bags or cling film in one piece. Though bin bags can be sold separately, the sale of cling film in sheet form is a non-starter due to its nature. Individual sheets will stick together, making your cling film unusable.

Extrusion cores are also good for cables and wires as an alternative to wood and plastic reels. At a smaller scale, string, twine, and thread. What’s more, once you have finished with it, the used cores are recyclable.

What about dimensions and colours?

Our polythene and extrusion cores are available in lengths as small as 5 mm. The longest length we can do is 6,000 mm – about the same length as the stage at Romiley Forum theatre. You can have an inner diameter as thin as 25.4 mm, or as thick as 305 mm. The wall thickness can be as thin as 2 mm or as thick as 15 mm.

We also have a number of standard sizes as well as bespoke options. What’s more, your polythene and extrusion cores can come in any colour with a choice of company logos. If you have any queries, telephone us on 0161 430 6061. We will be happy to take your call.

roller blind

Textile and Roller Blind

Our cardboard tubes for textiles and roller blinds are a product line that Romiley Board Mill has offered for several years. This is owing to our company’s roots in the cotton industry where cardboard tubes were made for bobbins and spools. Our convolute cores are made from a single sheet of cardboard to ensure a high beam strength. Also we can offer a quick stick double sided tape to offer hassle free application.

To enquire about this product, please call 0161 430 6061 or fill in the form below

We at Romiley Board Mill manufacture the strongest set of cardboard tubes for textiles and roller blinds on the market. They are another example of how our cardboard products are designed for the home as well as the office and factory.

Convolute tubes or spiral tubes?

As rolled up roller blinds are pretty heavy, convoluted tubes instead of spiral tubes are used. Its high beam strength is in its construction: a single sheet of cardboard which glued together to make a tube. For heavy duty applications, it is unlikely to disintegrate compared with spiral tubes. Spiral tubes are best used for lightweight applications, like toilet tissue, cotton thread and aluminium foil.

What about dimensions and colours?

Our cardboard tubes for textiles and roller blinds are available in lengths ranging from 500 mm to 2,100 mm. The latter length is about the same width of many windows in modern-day homes and offices. You can have an inner diameter as thin as 25.4 mm, or as thick as 76 mm. The wall thickness can be as thin as 2 mm or as thick as 6 mm.

We also have a number of standard sizes as well as bespoke options. What’s more, your cardboard tubes for textiles and roller blinds are available in any colour with a choice of company logos. For further information, why not call us on 0161 430 6061. We shall get back to you as soon as possible.
